Mission Statement | Notre Dame Mission Volunteers Americorps believes that education is the fundamental tool in the struggle of the poor for human dignity, self-esteem and self-determination. We are committed to helping people help themselves. Our goal is to promote and encourage education, community empowerment, leadership development and multicultural harmony. |
Volunteer Duties |
In Watsonville, we partner with several schools and community agencies to act on our mission. Many members serve as academic assistants in public and private elementary and middle schools. Other members serve at Second Harvest Food Bank organizing the Passion for Produce and the Food for Children programs, conducting nutrition education outreach and agency relations in Santa Cruz County. One member serves the families in transition at the Pajaro Valley Shelter Services. |
