Volunteer Duties

In Watsonville, we partner with several schools and community agencies to act on our mission. Many members serve as academic assistants in public and private elementary and middle schools. Other members serve at Second Harvest Food Bank organizing the Passion for Produce and the Food for Children programs, conducting nutrition education outreach and agency relations in Santa Cruz County. One member serves the families in transition at the Pajaro Valley Shelter Services.

It is recommended that members be 21 years of age and have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Housing assistance is available in Watsonville. A living allowance is received during the eleven months of service and an Education Award is received on completion of a minimum of 1700 service hours. Full time service (40 hours/week) begins in early September and ends August 1.

A description of the full application process is here: http://www.ndmva.org/apply/
